Our Philosophy: A Hands-On, Patient-First Approach

We believe that effective physical therapy in Seattle goes beyond just treating symptoms. Our approach is rooted in a deep understanding of biomechanics and a commitment to evidence-based practice. We utilize advanced techniques like manual therapy, diagnostic ultrasound, and dry needling to accurately diagnose the root cause of your pain. This allows us to move beyond temporary fixes and create lasting solutions.

Whether you’re seeking post-surgical ACL rehab, specialized treatment for a rotator cuff tear, or relief from chronic back pain, our treatment plans are tailored to your unique body and goals. We combine hands-on techniques with targeted exercises and education, empowering you to take an active role in your recovery. Our goal is not just to resolve your current injury but to give you the tools and understanding to prevent future problems.

A Team of Specialists Invested in Your Goals

Our team of Doctors of Physical Therapy are more than just providers; they are partners in your health journey. Every Seattle physical therapist on our team brings a wealth of specialized knowledge and personal experience to your care. Many are athletes and outdoor enthusiasts themselves, giving them a profound understanding of the demands you place on your body. This firsthand experience is crucial when creating a recovery plan that fits your lifestyle. Our comprehensive physical therapy services cover everything from treating climbing injuries and running-related pain to managing tendonitis and post-surgical rehabilitation. We are passionate about helping the active residents of Seattle recover from conditions like tennis elbow and rotator cuff tears so they can return to their sports stronger and more resilient than before.

What Our Patients Say

As a climber, I really appreciated that Jon is also a climber and has deep experience with climbing-related injuries. He helped me rehab from a couple of shoulder and elbow issues, and his guidance has been super effective—I’m still practicing the exercises daily. On top of that, the front desk staff are always welcoming and friendly, which makes every visit easy and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Our entire family has been to Union PT for everything from teenage sports injuries to a herniated disc. The therapists have all been so kind, understanding, knowledgeable, and ready to help you work through whatever your issue is. The front desk staff is also super nice and it’s easy to book appointments. I would definitely recommend them to friends or family looking for physical therapy.

— Miranda O., Google Review

I’ve been going to Union for about 5 sessions following an ACL tear, and I’m so impressed by the level of care and attentiveness to the patient’s priorities/activity levels are. Michelle and Kat got me walking and biking safely way sooner than I’d thought possible. As an active person, they’ve worked with me to prioritize mental health and safe ways to exercise. Can’t recommend them enough.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my appointments be?

Your initial evaluation will be approximately one hour. Follow-up appointments are typically 45-60 minutes, during which you will have one-on-one time with your physical therapist.

What kind of conditions do you treat?

We are an orthopedic physical therapy clinic with a focus on active individuals and outdoor athletes. We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, including back and neck pain, shoulder and knee injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, tendonitis, and chronic pain. We also offer specialized services like vestibular therapy for vertigo and pelvic health physical therapy.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

Washington is a “Direct Access” state, which means you do not need a physician’s referral to see a physical therapist for an evaluation or treatment. However, some insurance plans may still require a referral for coverage, so we recommend checking with your provider. Our administrative team is happy to help you navigate this process.

What should I expect on my first visit?

Your first visit is a comprehensive evaluation with one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy. We’ll listen to your history, assess your movement and strength, and work with you to understand your goals. This allows us to create a precise diagnosis and develop a personalized treatment plan to start you on the path to recovery.
