Chelsea Sheldon

DPT, FAAOMPT

Chelsea received a BS in physiology from the UW in 2017 and worked in Applied Behavior Analysis before receiving her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for Health Professions in Boston, also working in New Hampshire, Maine and for NYU in Manhattan during the COVID pandemic before graduating in 2022. She has worked in Acute Care hospitals,Inpatient Rehab, and Hospital-Based outpatient therapy seeing an extensive variety of diagnoses from traumatic, orthopedic, vestibular, pelvic and sports-related. She then went on to complete her fellowship in orthopedic manual physical therapy in Dallas, Texas through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy with special focus in differential diagnosis, hyper-mobility disorders, neural dynamics and manual therapy efficacy before returning back to her home state of Washington. Chelsea’s clinical passion lies in well-rounded and individual care across the injury spectrum, regardless of associated conditions, chronicity of conditions or age, and has a special passion for helping those who have had difficulty navigating their conditions.

Chelsea is also a teaching assistant for courses in differential diagnosis, electrical dry needling, spinal manipulation and vestibular for the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy, as well as having worked on protocols for best practice for conditions including Golfer’s elbow, ACL and Achilles research. She is also passionate about volunteering at screenings for marathons, martial arts, dancers, and high schoolers and is very passionate about prevention, longevity and building resilience and self-efficacy in addition to traditional rehabilitation.

Bachelors of Science in physiology from the University of Washington

Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for Health

 

Advanced Clinical Education:

• Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy from the American Academy of Manipulative

Therapy

 

Certifications/Advanced Coursework:

• Diploma Osteopractic from the American academy of Manipulative therapy

• Certified spinal manipulation therapy with endorsement in Washington State as well as trained in extremity manipulation

• Certified in Dry Needling with endorsement in Washington State

• Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor Level I and II certified

• Vestibular concussion specialist

• Coursework in advanced neuro-dynamics (nerve related conditions)

Outside the clinic:

Outside the clinic Chelsea enjoys spending time with her husband and friends trying new restaurants especially coffee shops, trying various new exercises out to use with her patients, reading, and enjoying hiking, rock climbing and other outdoor activities
